Father and two sons missing from Kadhimiya, Baghdad, since August 13, 2014

On August 13, 2014, Jassim Al Noaimi and his two sons, Sabah and Najah, were arrested by members of the Iraqi National Security Service, accompanied by officers from unidentified forces, from their family home in Al Shuala district, Baghdad. They remain disappeared to date.

At 11 p.m. on August 13, 2014, uniformed members of the Iraqi National Security Service, accompanied by unidentified masked and armed forces in black uniform, raided the Al Noaimi family house. The forces were headed by a major and consisted of 25 other military personnel.

When they entered the house, the forces threatened the family and ordered them to sit on the ground and direct their faces towards the floor. They then stamped on them as they searched the house.

The forces arrested Jassim, along with his sons Najah and Sabah. They then beat them and forced them to get into black GMC cars, before taking them to an unknown location.

The forces also confiscated cars belonging to Jassim and Najah, along with a sum of money.

In light of Jassim’s, Najah’s and Sabah’s disappearances, their family submitted two complaints to the Al Mithaq Police Station in Baghdad on August 23, 2014 and March 30, 2015. These complaints were referred to the investigating judge of Kadhimiya on August 28, 2014 and April 29, 2015, respectively, but to no avail.
